As every woman knows, the Little Black Dress is a closet staple, a necessity of life.

But sometimes the LBD just does not cut it. It doesn’t fit your mood…

Maybe you feel more cheery that day and want some color, or maybe you’re going out with friends and you want to stand out.

That’s what this dress is for.

It’s a Little Black Dress that’s, well, not so black.

The tribal, native-american pattern used in the middle makes the dress young and vibrant. But the black side paneling keeps it sleek and slimming, like an LBD should be.
This was one of my first dresses designed, patterned, and sewn with my own two hands — an original “LaRue” so to speak.
It was so fun shooting this piece on South First as the sun was rising.
South First is one of my favorite streets in Austin, with all the murals, and funky shops and restaurants, I feel like I’m always discovering something new every time I drive down there.

Hope y’all like!
Peace out
